Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, To Gold Camp I Go!
Dominic Ricci – GPAA/LDMA Executive Director of Operations
The longer we stay, the cheaper it gets
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to camp we go
The longer we stay, the cheaper it gets
We dig, dig, dig and mine the whole day through To dig, dig, dig is what we really like to do It ain't no trick to get rich quick If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick In a camp! In a mine! Where a million gold flakes shine!
We dig, dig, dig from early morn till night We dig, dig, dig up everything in sight We dig up gems and gold by the score A thousand rubies, sometimes more But we don't know what we dig 'em for We dig dig dig a-dig dig
Taken from the Heigh-Ho lyrics, modified for the Lost Dutchman’s Mining Associations camps for the reason of announcing discounts for longer term stays when camping at LDMA Camps.
According to Camper Report (www.camperroport.com), in general, RV campsites fees are between $25 and $80 per night depending on the location, the size of the space, and what connections are offered. The average camper trailer spot with power and water costs about $45 a night. Not at LDMA!
Many people join the Lost Dutchman’s Mining Association because it gives them great access to gold bearing property and very inexpensive camping rates . . . while enjoying life and hunting for gold, gems, treasures and more.
If you love to camp, then LDMA is a great choice, especially for long term camping. A great choice if you want to stay at a single camp for up to six months before moving on to your next destination.
New to full time RVing, Bob and Linda Baker spend six months at LDMA Stanton Camp in Arizona, then work their way back visiting friends and family as they head to LDMA Burnt River Camp in Eastern Oregon for the Summer.
“LDMA is our family! We love spending time at the different camps, creating memories with new and long-term family (friends),” shares Linda.
LDMA started offering season passes for discounted rates at different camps a year or so ago. Now, with all ten existing camps, and any future camps that come on board, we have a system in place that if staying thirty days or more you will get a nightly discount off the regular rates. Stay longer than four months and it gets even more affordable.
Where else can you camp for up to six months for as little as $2.00 per night? Sure, you can stay for free on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public land . . . for up to fourteen days . . . before having to move. Oh, but you don’t have any other facilities in the middle of public land either.
Need access to the camp kitchen (closed during events)? No additional cost! Many public Campgrounds make you pay to “rent” their kitchen and dining areas.
LDMA member Ronnie Rogers, “I spend five to six months during the summer at LDMA Burnt River Camp in Eastern Oregon. I have access to showers, restroom, clubhouse, water, dump station . . . and all the gold I can find!”
Invitation to Non-LDMA members
The LDMA camps and properties are a “Members Only” destination, with a few exceptions.
LDMA opens its camps to anyone (other family, friends, co-workers and neighbors, etc.) during a National Event and many Camp events throughout the year.
Additionally, we extend a one-time, up to 3-day pass for non-members to stay at one LDMA camp to experience what LDMA is all about. Many come in on a pass, enjoy the atmosphere, people, lifestyle and join the LDMA after talking to the camp hosts.
If you are not a LDMA member, please consider a 3-day pass. All you need to do is call the LDMA National Office @ 800-551-9707 and request a pass. Soon you will be enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Creating memories, and the LDMA adventures.
